Peter Pisters, M.D., MHCM, returned to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center as its president on Dec. 1, 2017. He previously served the institution in faculty and leadership positions for more than 20 years . In this role as president, Pisters reports to The University of Texas System Chancellor and serves as MD Anderson's Governing Body. MD Anderson was once again named the No. 1 hospital for cancer care in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals” rankings for 2022-23.
